Smooth and very high quality motors. I wouldn’t expect anything less from Bob.
These motors are as described, fantastic low throttle control and still have power. I have been comparing many motors in my search for my ideal set up and when I had the opportunity to get these I couldn’t pass it up. They feel similar to the rcinpower smoox’s, with the key difference being response, the smooxs will spin up faster and have a snappier flight, whereas these feel like adding expo, slightly softer response with increased low throttle control, which I suspect is partly due to this softer response, the throttle response is exactly the same as pitch/ roll response so having that softer response makes level flight smoother.
I had some desync issues however the drone never fell out the sky and they were resolved with ESC settings. I kept start up power at 0.4 and increased motor timing to 27 degrees at 24khz PWM.
Overall, these really are fantastic and if you have a cinematic quad, cinematic flying style or flow style these are 100% the motors you should be using. If you do sbang or like Mr. Steele flippy floppy style then these are not for you, and the Smoox would be your alternative motor.
I have a few Glides and I tried this one out - it flies great (but then so does the Glide), although I know I am not the hardest freestyle pilot out there. I think this is perfect for a sort of borderline freestyle/cinematic quad specifically where you need to run a low angle on the GoPro without props in view. A squashed-X like this one probably performs a little worse than true-X like the Glide, but a little better than dead cat, so you have your choice. I really like it with the big 5.2" Gemfan props and the 25mm motors for carrying a heavy GoPro.
It sure is hella sticky, but I was able to whipe away excess with a towel by going over it a few times. No idea if it works.
I fly 1s and this is my go to board. It is a good foundation for any toothpick.
So simple, yet perfectly designed for what it's supposed to do. Surprisingly crash resistant too. I have to admit, I've been hoarding tp3 parts so I never have to be without a working one.
It’s a great frame, easy to build with a lot of space to put your stuff in. It flies and crashes great and that gives me more confidence to fly harder.
I liked this frame so much I bought another .Flies like a dream . It would be nice if they also offered betaflight setups for this quad.
Amazing motors... if they dont desync on you, dare I say they are better than the 25mm unibell motors due to them weighing quite a bit less. Out of 3 esc's, one has desync issues with these, the other 2 are great. the one that desyncs can run them at 10% rampup.
these are a bit of a risk, but when they work......daaaaaannnngggg
Wont help you stay under 250, but it'll make your lightweight a lot more fun to fly! May even think about testing them out on a 3.5" cinewhoop next.
These make my TP3's extra juicy :D Great packs.
i love toothpick quads. this is perfect.
FPVCycle 25mm Imperial Motor
Well thought out frame with integrated Vista. Plenty of durability with light weight. Choose the 23mm tall with 5” arms. It won’t be sub250, but it’ll be one of your smoothest 5’s in your fleet!
