The RunCam Nano 2 is one of the few Nano cam options there are today. Compared to the RunCam Nano Racer, this camera has more natural looking colors and the image doesn’t look quite as grainy. Compared to typical Micro cams, this camera is not significantly better or worse than any other small CMOS sensor camera such as the Falkor, Runcam Racers, Arrows, Swifts, Robin….many will debate among these cameras but they are all very similar when compared side by side. The large sensor CMOS cameras such as the Micro Eagle and Caddx Ratel have a mechanical advantage of having a physically larger sensor and therefore most people will say they have a better looking image.
What this camera does lack compared to many other Micro cams is an OSD that allows you to change settings and lighting profiles. That being said, you don’t really need to change settings on this one. It looks pretty good as is and is very decent in low light as well.
The 2.1mm lens option is the typical focal length that many racers and freestyle pilots prefer. Some like a wider FOV so the 1.8mm is an option as well. The overall FOV of the 1.8mm is very similar to the ultra wide view of your typical whoop cam.
