While the 2809 size isn't new, this motor is built with the latest components RCinpower has to offer and parts we've found to perform well. Various adjustments and quality of life improvements include bell durability design, bearing accessibility, flush mounting, magnet heat dissipation and other minor details. The 2809 size was chosen because of it's proportion of width to height providing good permanent magnetic flux, adequate stator heat dissipation, good efficiency, good motor weight and excellent low and high rpm control for typical 7-8" loads on 6S with it's 1300kv. We did experiment heavily with split shifted magnets and other various design elements prior to settling on this size and build. The added cost and performance trade offs in other areas were not worth the very minor improvements.

Our favorite prop with this motor is the Gemfan carbon reinforced nylon 7035 triblade. Pair all this with an 1800-3000mah 6S pack with a high C rating for excellent performance.

This 2809 motor replaces the previous 30mm motor and has the latest magnets from RCinpower. You can mix and match this 2809 with the 30mm motor on the same craft.

Simply no match

I have 10x 7" rigs, trying to find that one motor that will give me the power, efficiency and weight.

These 30mm motors are simply RAW POWER which I powered with dual Tattu Rline v3 6S 1400maH in parallel they will take high amps during hard acceleration and high pitched props and give me an acceleration that I have not had on any other build.

The pleasant surprise was simply a major benefit I never expected raw power motors that these are could also be efficient.
This means I can do long range with Lithium Ions. I still cant understand how you can have the power of a V8 big block engine with the efficiency of a Tesla.

Mind you they will chew amps when you push it and they deliver results.
I use mine now all with 7056 3 blade props and I am sure they would drive something larger with ease. I think you could spin a 9" prop with them.

I enjoy the results to these motors so much that I purchased a second set and created a second build exactly the same specs and havent looked back.

I use it on a iFlight Chimera7 frame which is probably at this stage the stiffest frame I own, T-Motor 55A Pro II 4in1 ESC, Holybro Kakute F745, Dalprop 7056 3 blade props, Tattu Rline 1400maH V3 batteries x 2 feeding into XT90 plug with AWG10 wire to the ESC 50v 1000uF Low ESR capacitor, Matek M9N GPS with magnetometer, DJI Air Unit and camera, TBS CRSF Diversity with long range antennas one is extended, 2x TrueRC Singularity Carbon versions, Custom 3D printed mounts, INAV 2.6 after initially using Betaflight and realising long range was unexpectedly possible,

Overheated on GF 8060

This motor was an excellent, fantastic performer for 7.5" props, super lightweight, durable(loved the smaller bell) and had a lot of authority in the mid throttle where we fly most often.

It even took the gemfan 8040 well, but when we switched to the 8060 props, the motor overheated everytime, it was hot enough that Dshot600 cut powers to the motors to prevent thermal damage. As the PIDs were already relaxed, as a last resort we reduced the motor output to 80% before flying a live load on it.

Would still buy it for the outstanding build quality, weight, and performance.

Nice

Powerful and smooth. Huge improvement over previous 7" motors. They have been holding up well. Have more than 50 packs on them with no issues. Even after spending the night on the bottom of a lake on their 3rd flight.

Great for 7" regular drones, not great for Le Pigeon

Going from 2806.5 on Le Pigeon to these 30mm motors was a huge improvement on and with small lenses (sub 160g) these motors have enough authority (with 7" props on 6S) to maintain rock solid buttery flight. But with heavier lenses these motors still aren't powerful enough with the extra payload of Le Pigeon just as an FYI. These motors are really meant for a regular 7" quad though and for their intended purpose they are spectacular, especially when it comes to lower end throttle control and responsiveness.

Great 7" motors

Using these on a 7" build. They are amazing. Plenty of torque yet still very efficient. I spend most of the time flying at half stick or less. Great motors and super smooth.

Great motors

I have those motors on my 7” build.
Awesome super quiet motors with loads of power.

Smooth well preforming motors.

These are great motors for my Titan dc7. They sound great and preform exceptionally. Only thing I wish would be other color options for motors.

Big smooth motor

These are great motors. Be sure to use a higher Amp ESC and definitely up your ramp up power if you have flutters at zero throttle

Hands down the best

Well thought out products at a fair price. I’m always happy to support the innovation that Bob is pushing.
