Use this frame in 1.5mm or 2mm with the 1S 3” drivetrain for a super fun and safe 45-55g AUW quad that will knock your socks off!  The same pattern is offered in 2.5mm for the 3S drivetrain if you prefer a unibody over the TP3. It’s impressively stiff and confidence inspiring in 3mm and only 8.8g.  You should be aware that the 1.5mm version is not as strong as the 2mm version but it is about 1.3g lighter.

This design is called the ‘Baby Tooth’ not because it’s smaller than the TP3, but because it supports 1S better and is simpler than the TP3. After some heavy refinement, this is the final pattern we landed on.

This frame is cut from T700 carbon but It does not have a chamfer on it. This frame is supposed to be a high value item with the majority of the design time invested into optimizing performance, weight and durability.  Customizing the frame with your own hand done sanding on the edges is up to you.

The latest version seen in the product pictures has thicker arm ends for more motor protection and a cross bar on one of the arms designed to mount the MiniMortal T antenna.  The overall frame design has also had minor adjustments to it's lines to improve durability further.

Specifications:

  • 115mm diagonal for 3” props
  • T700 carbon
  • 1.5mm thick ~4.4g (carbon only)
  • 2mm thick 5.7g (carbon only)

    Slick frame, strong and simple

I like that the frame is simple, strong, easy to work with, and doesn't look like a Kirigami craft. I like that the motors are protected. My 2mm frame with 1205+ motors, Matrix 1s AIO, Avatar Lite, and 850 mAh batt is a 66g beast. It is 47g without battery. Over/under configuration.

Ohhh BabyTooth 3in How Awesome You Are!

Build yourself one and you will love it. The frame and carbon quality are top notch! If your going for extreme performance and weight savings and are a veteran pilot pushing it to the limit, sure go for 1.5mm version but it can break. If your everyone else buy the 2mm version for your 1s shananigans haha. The 3mm version is really for 2s bashing BUT if you live somewhere or fly primarily over hard surfaces like concrete or paved parking lots, parking garages etc, there is some merit to the 3mm cause of how much of an absolute beating it will be able to take on 1s especially if your using a little bigger of a battery for longer flight like a 750mah to 950mah+ the extra thickness will help it survive to those heavier weight BabyTooths out there. But like I said most people are going to be happy with the 2mm version and if you like me and want to support what Kababs doing as well as not have to worry about breaking the 1.5mm or 2mm version just buy a few extras. At the price you can't really go wrong for the quality.

    Amazing piece of engineering

I have followed the development of the TP3 and the Babytooth throughout the video posts of Kabab. The more I have seen about it the more I have wanted to build one.

I am located in Sweden, so the shipping is not funny, but I was dedicated. I have managed to get frame and motors in one batch and canopy and props in another. In the end I have waited until the first batch of the Zeez 1S AIO board has emerged and have purchased a "naked" variant immediately.

The batteries were a different challenge, I wanted to get something from Europe possibly to get shorter shipping time. In the end just managed to snatch some from the UK just before Brexit came reality.

The build was a nice project, I have just received an STM32-driven soldering station with good temperature control, so it went fairly well. I have added an XM+ FrSky receiver and a RunCam Nano3. Unfortunately I managed to get the "new" lens, which is much worse and to add insult to injury the FPV Cycle ANT camera just came out afterwards.... :-)

The build has XT30, I have purchased 10 pieces of GNB 520 mAh batteries (unfortunately they HV, but I only charge them to 4,2V), cut off the PH2 connectors and attached XT30 instead.

AUW is exactly 60 g, which is probably a rather "heavy" build in BabyTooth terms, but I am loving it. My lightest quad is approximately 200 grams, so 60 g is like a bliss.

Love the lack of noise, love the effortless "glide" of the quad, love the performance in climb, love the flight time, love the low risk of flying. The motors look lovely, the props are just amazing. The frame is perfect, the size is perfect.

I have constructed a serial charging "board" out of an IKEA foodbox, I can series charge either 4 or 5 batteries and even storage charge them.

I am a rubbish pilot, but this quad gives me the possibility to learn a lot outside the simulator world and enjoy flying without the fearsome consequences of crashing. I am running Velocidrone and try to practice.

The maiden has confirmed my previous ideas of the BabyTooth. Extreme fun in a friendly package.

Later on I have started to challenge my skills. Probably in terms of the capabilities of the BabyTooth platform I am scraping the 5% level so far, but even my low level of flying gives plenty of joy.

A deserted football yard is fun: https://youtu.be/mxIcanHgSYg

I will practice more and my next purchase will probably be the TP3. That must be a rocketship. I need to learn fly much better for that one....

    Simply the best

You just can't find the quality for the price in this frame class anywhere else. I have both the 2mm(1s) and 3mm(2s) and multiple of the old 2.5 picks and have yet to do anything but scuff them and I beat the crap out of them. Pick a few up while they are in stock 😎

Is it weird if I say it’s beautiful carbon? It’s beautiful carbon.

    Great quality frame

I added 4 11,400kv 1S FPV Cycle motors and the Bee Brain camera mount and it flies great. I also used an AIO board with the downward facing USB connector. I just flipped it up and changed the orientation in Betaflight to match. It was easy. I flew it with some 1S lipos but have since strapped an 18650 Sony cell to it for longer flight times.

    Fantastic frame 💯

I've recently built what I call the Supertp3. Although a tp3 built with the 5000kv motors and a 3s tattu R-line is phenomenal, I wanted more🏋️🐆🚀🧖‍♂️. So I grabbed some T-motor 1404 4600kv motors and some tattu !!4s!! 550 R-line batteries. Slapped that on a 3mm babytooth frame with a jhemcu 40a pro (has black box) running 48khz bluejay. Pidtoolboxed it for a tight step response and verify no oscillations after balancing props. Warning, gf 3016's are well "balanced" for most builds including the tp3 but not this they Must be well balanced! Or else🌛. It's running analog, a foxeer razor pico paired with a hglrc Zeus nano vtx with mic. I put a betafpv nano elrs for longer range (100mw telemetry amp chip). A 80% throttle limit so far🤏 (44,000 rpm). It comes in at 74grams and Hauls butt😁 like a lot🤓. It sounds so good and smooth as butter. My next build will be hdzero same thing basically but Hdizzle. With all that said it's a tp3 on a babytooth frame with Nitrous. Good flight times 5+minutes. Still love my tp3's🥰. Go fly! Thanks Kabob!

    Frame thickness

Frame the 2mm could be just a little stronger Maybe just 2.5 mm thickness especially on the motor ends they tend to warp just after a few crashes its great when it's brand new needs more stiffness on the motor ends please and opening for FC with facing down USB ports Thx.

Great with a few slight problems

The frame is great, nice light and seems to be durable. Very satisfied with it, my only issue is that all of the holes drilled in the frame were slightly too small and the screws needed to be threaded into them. This is obviously an issue for things like motor screws, but it was easy to drill them out a bit. Maybe this was just my batch, I don't know.

3mm one for 3S Caddx vista build

Perfect frame for super lightweight 3S Caddx vista build. I putted some heat shrink on the motor guard to have less chance of scratching the frame, and so far even after a few very bad crashes it is still intact.
    Would recommend !
